This is an original hand-coloured aquatint published in London, 1811, by Rudolph Ackermann Repository of Arts (Plate 36).
Shows the “Imperial Cot”—the grand, gilded cradle commissioned by the city of Paris for Napoleon Bonaparte’s only son, Napoleon II (the King of Rome).
This plate introduced the British elite to the opulent French design of Napoleon’s court.
